Screen Shot

Assalammualaikum, hai..

agaknya dah lama sangat dah tak berblog, sebab sibuk sikit dengan kelas, assignment , aktiviti luar kehkeh..

petang ni tetiba rajin pulak nak bebel kat belog sendiri.. *assignment masih menunggu*
hari ni nak share sikit pasal pemerhatian aku kat fb kebelakangan ni.. sekarang teknologi gadget semua orang dah berkemapuan nak miliki , budank-budak pun dah ipong kan.. so skg kat fb semakin hari gejala nak screen shot salah silap org menjadi-jadi, lagi nak sebarkan aib dan malu org?. memang lah dia salah, tapi kita tak sepatutnya sebarkan kat orang lain, macamla cara kita tegur tu betulkan? padahal kita tengah hina dia. kalau sayangkan dia pun sebaiknya tegur personally .. bukan dengan cara screen shot ..org lain pun siap syok2 laki tekan button share ..hinggalah jadi viral.. bayangkan lah kalau semua dosa kita.. silap kita org nampak terus org share kat fb...twitter etc.. malu kan? "Barangsiapa menutup aib seorang muslim, maka Allah akan menutup aibnya." (HR al-Bukhari dan Muslim)

make sure kalau nak share something tanya kat diri sendiri dulu adakah betul ke tak cara kita tu :)

kullu nafsin zaaikatul maut-Mh370

My deepest condolences to the families of the passangers on board MH370. No words can describe how much it hurts. :')

Sungguhlah, Dia pengatur, perancang bagi semua perkara. Kun fayakun. Jadi! maka

jadilah. No matter it’s you,or other people, takkan ada seorang pun terlepas kalau dah Dia kata you have

to go through all these circumstances,

no matter what; then you have to.

Apa apa pun yang jadi, the ultimate truth that we have to face is “kullu nafsin zaaikatul

maut.” To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Any argument isn’t valid anymore.

He is the One The only God.

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. Jugak untuk 529 orang penyokong Presiden Muhammad

Mursi yang dijatuhkan hukuman mati. Al-fatihah. May Allah be with them. He is Al-Adl.

Adil dalam setiap perkara. He knows while we know not.

Allah nak tunjuk jauh mana pun kita pergi, akhirnya kita akan cari Dia, balik pada Dia.

Sebab Dia, pemberi ujian.

Dan Dia jugak yang membuka jalan. Bukan pakar, bukan mesin, bukan bomoh mahu

pawang, bukan apa-apa pun. Cuma Dia. Enough said.

Harun Din - Mh370

Dr Harun Din Mula Bersuara Mengenai MH 370.

masjid:
1.Kembali kepada cara hidup islam. Sistem Islam, kembali kepada Allah.
Insaflah yang kita sedang diuji Allah.
2.Air di empangan makin kurang. 3/4 Malaysia berjerebu dan terbaru MH370. Berpuluh-

puluh kapal dan aircrafts cari pun tak jumpa. Allah nak ajar manusia bahawa ilmu kita ni

sangat sedikit berbanding ilmu Allah.

dijadikan tinta, masih tak mampu nak menulis kalimah Allah. Apatah lagi ilmuNya.

Allah ingatkan kita..kembali

padaNya..pohon maaf..insaf.
7.Bila dah 3 ke 4 hari tak jumpa baru nak ingat Allah.. Baru nak solat hajat. Bagi yang

terang mata hati..terus baca innalillahi wainna ilaihirojiuun sewaktu awal-awal peristiwa

berlaku.
8.Beliau(Dr Harun din) mengeluarkan pendapat ikut pengalaman, beliau melihat Saudi

muslim) sebelum melakukan penerbangan.

ni..banyak sangat orang Islam percaya perkara khurafat..bomoh dah jadi kelaziman

Jodoh/mate..

"You might be married to the worst man on earth, like Asiah who married Pharoah, but it didn’t change her goodness or her aqidah. You might be married to the best man on earth, like Prophet Lut’s wife, yet that doesn’t mean you’re going to Jannah with him. You might not be married at all, like our beloved Maryam (r.a) yet Allah swt places your status above all other women on earth. Have faith in Allah always & place your full trust in Him. He’s the central focal point of our lives." [Heba El-Haddad]

I woke up this morning with that quote ringing in my mind...I had read it a few days ago but somehow its effect on me is only surfacing today.

Anyway. Jodoh. What IS jodoh?

I dont have the english word for it though.

Most people translate this literally as 'mate'...most in my social circle translate jodoh to mean spouse & the relationship between them.

I don't believe in those definitions. They are too short-sighted and narrow, especially when you integrate religion and life experiences and philosophical ideas of marriage and relationships into it.

Jodoh. Just like our life and death/ajal...it is all pre-determined. My understanding of jodoh is more of a concept of predetermined soulmates.

"Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know."- Yaasiin, 36.

Everyone has their jodoh.

And you will be with your jodoh in Heaven thereafter. Whether or not you are lucky enough to meet your jodoh in this life, is a different story. Some people may never meet their jodoh, as jodoh includes lives lost in aborted fetuses, deaths in children, etc.

The Malays always say 'dah tak ada jodoh' whenever a relationship/marriage fails...how can that be, when God Himself has created you and your jodoh? The logical reason is, he/she wasn't your jodoh in the first place. He/She was a rezeki, a blessing for that period of time. You mean to say if you do marry again, you found another jodoh? Let me ask you, does ajal come twice?

Lets say you have an illness, that doesnt mean you know how your ajal will come.

Similarly, just because you are in a relationship, does not mean you have found your jodoh.

Bottomline : only God knows whether or not you are with your jodoh.

Be the best you are, and be grateful for the person that you have.

A friend is need is a friend indeed

! warning this is quite a longer post :p

salam girls! I never really write that much these days, huh? Well, I've been seriously busy with things! Really really sorry....but I will let you know all about it soon! hehe. But anyways...today, I have a little bit of free time, so I'm gonna spare some of my time now to write a bit - Okayyy.. maybe not thattt bit. It's kinda lengthy actually. haha. I'm just bored and don't feel like editing pictures. So words, will do! ;)

Anyway, today's topic is about friends. Let's talk about friendship! This is something that I have been meaning to write in here.. It's something that I learned these past couple of years. And today after I saw something, it just made me wanted to write about it even more :)

Well I came across a proverb that says a friend in need is a friend indeed! ...which kinda reminds me a lot of things in my life. So today, with my free time noww.. I decided to make a post about what I have learned about friendship! Anyway, have you ever heard of this quote before? A friend in need is a friend indeed! Well, this phrase can have two meanings actually;
It means that one way to know that someone is really a true friend is when they come to you in . It means that they trust you with their secrets, know you will not judge them for their problems or their inablitity to solve them on their own. That friend knows they can call on you in an emergency. So in helping them, your "deeds" are proof of your friendship! - For example, if I'm home alone and accidentally cut my hand while doing something in the kitchen, I would need a good friend I could call to drive me to the doctor or to the emergency room. And if I choose you, then I am a friend in need who really needs you to be my friend right now! ^__^
Another meaning behind that phrase could also mean someone who only communicates with you  - They call you a friend, but outside of your repeatedly rescuing them, there is nothing more to the relationship!  Oh, beware my darlings, of these kind of people! They're not a true friend. These are some terrible friends!  O__oAnyway, in today's world, I really think that it's really hard to find what I call...a . It's kinda like the same situation in relationship when you really wanted to find TRUE LOVE. So I think this is kinda like the same thing with finding a True Friend in friendship!  You may see two or three or four or even ten people being so close with one another in good times, but that maybe just on the surface... You should not judge a person in those good times honey, but in difficult times as well! (this applies to relationship too!) There are different kinds of friends. True and faithful friends, casual friends and false/fake or fair-weather friends, etc! A true and faithful friend has certain qualities, which you should also have! It is correctly said that . Hmm..I don't know about you, but for me...I have many different category and types of what I call "friends":
Social friends - don't really know each other that much. Only hang out a couple of times and talk about crap and stuff.   Next-Door friends.Neighbours, Co-workers, Schoolmates, etc  "Biasa-biasa" kind of friend a.k.a Casual Friend - You guys always see each other but don't really share personal or even not-so-personal things. You just know a little bit, here and there about one another  Hi-Bye friend. Don't know each other at all but recognizes one another from parties, events or whatever, and say "Hi!" (and only"Hi!") to each other when you guys met. haha Social-Media/Internet friends.Never met. But know each other in the virtual world. Like you and me here. We are friends in this virtual world! So, "Hi friend!" :)  Only-Gonna-Be-Your-Friend-When-You-Are-Cool-and-Happy-But-Leave-When-You're-Sad-and-Boring! kind of friends.  -__-' Ass Kisser Friend. Those who only be your very best friend when they want something from you. So they'll show you some reaaallly good qualities in front of you. But betray you later. Pfffffft  Old Friend  New Friend  Imaginary Friend. Erk?     Fake Friend. Ouch. Beware!!!  At-The-Moment Friend. These are the type that would only talk or see each other when they're at the same place as you. i.e. living in the same apartment, going to school together, same class/workplace, etc. However, they would ignore / stop communicating with you once you're not in their life anymore. - Unfortunately this happens to most of us. (It's really sad to know how people just leave and lost contact with you just like that, huh? - Especially if you know the person well for years.) Close Friend. Share everyyyy thing together.Best Friend or these days they called it as BFF. Know almost everything about you - Waitt..I think this is kinda similar to the above? haha. Whatever ;p In-Good-Times-and-Bad-Times friend. - Now...this is !  Forever-and-Everrrrr...Till-Death-Do-Us-Part Friends.Woww...really? These people are SO lucky to have a true friend like this! hehe Bad Times Friends. Okayy..this is not really a friend. This is your enemy. Go away. Haha  No-Status kind of friend. So there are really a lot of category for "friends" here. But what I like to highlight here today in this post is about . From what I learned from my pasts in relationship and friendship, it's best to judge someone you're so close with, when you are in trouble, when you are in need, when you are alone, when you are sick, when you are broke...and et cetera. For me, I personally view friendship a little bit different than others, I guess? Some people might not really care about a friendship. To them, friends are not important. They just view friends...as "justtttt friends", I guess? No "attachment" kind of feelings to the person or whatever. But not me. I cherish my friendship/relationship with whoever that I am so close with. I care about the people I'm around with. But sadly, in this mad, mad world...there are many, many types of people that we need to be aware of. Some are sincere. Some just happens to be...erm.. not so sincere, I guess. We may be having many friends at the time of prosperity. But most of them desert at the time of adversity. We can examine the sincerity of a friend during our time of hardship and trouble. Only a sincere and faithful friend remains with us at the time of our trouble! All others would leave us. It is very painful when our friends turn traitors, huh? tskk.

There are many fair-weathered friends in this world.  It is very difficult to find a true friend nowadays, don't you think? I once heard from my lecturer that it is better to establish a true friendship with either a cat or a dog...or a ferret, I would say! haha. Because both these pets or "friends" would remain faithful to their human friends! This is why you need to start guarding yourself up and not trusting people 100%

The truth is, the world out there is cruel.

Very often some hypocrites pretend to be friends. They are more dangerous than avowed enemies. By telling soft words, by praising you to skies, by being so nice to you, and linger around you as long as you enjoy happiness, wealth, health and power. But when fortune and happiness turns against you, they would be nowhere to be seen! By doing that, they actually bring enormous ruin to us when they turn traitors! And that is what hurt the most! A true friend never exploits! He/she rather surrenders. So this is where you need to know who to be nice with, who to be friends and associate with! Sebab tu dulu cikgu-cikgu or parents selalu remind us untuk "pilih kawan". Or just don't trust people 100% and always be on guard! When you're in school, the social group that you're with will probably change. People change all the time. So be sure not to trust anyone 100%!

There can be some real jerks in schools, college and your workplace. And people may be targeting you if they see you're so naive...or nice or can be taken advantage of. So again, I'm reminding you not to put complete trust in all of your friends, even if you know them for 10 years already. I've seen so many betrayal of friends (I'm talking about 20-30 years of friendship), because of business and money or third party in relationship, etc! So don't put 100% trust in people and put anyone you love as your number 1, but instead, you should put Allah and only Him first, in whatever you do! :)

Friends are the family that we can choose. Good friends exercise good influence. They always help their friends, in distress and inspire them to walk on the right path. But evil friends ruin us completely...and disappear when we needed them! These days, the meaning of friendship has changed..and sadly, today, friendship between two persons is often short-lived. It's either you're Best Friends since school or college , OR.... you Best Friends when you were studying/working together years and years ago. And then totally lost contact when they find some new friends at the new place or something like that.. or find something else that interests them which doesn't include you anymore. This is typically the common situation for most of us. Only the lucky ones would still have a good relationship/friendship with their Close Friend/Best Friend until 30-40 years or more perhaps. Others, would only come to you again, when they needed something from you.... Yeah, that sucks right? Well, that's life. You could be a very best friend with someone when you work together for 20-30 years, but when you're retired, the person would not even text you, or call you. Apatah lagi jumpa. Especially if you're no longer his/her boss or someone more superior than him/her. So..yeah. This is where you can see and judge whether the person has been sincere to you or not, for all those years. Because like it or not, people tend to forget things that are not in front of them anymore. This is life. When that sucky situation happen, you just have to move on and live your life without them! Life is just full of uncertainties. So you need to guard yourself up, and don't let people walk all over you, honey!

So anyway, this "a friend in need is a friend indeed" proverb has always stands true. You always have friends who are with you during good times, but the ones who stick with you, when you face tough times,  when you truly need them, are the ones that are indeed your friends!
(However, my friend is quite confused with this phrase. She thought like.. why should she consider someone a friend, just because they are needy? hehe) Well, let me give you another example here:

A friend in need:

When you are in need. When you need help, when you are unable to give any repayment. When you are broke and everyone hates you, etc.

Is a friend indeed.

If your friend stays by you, when you are in need, that is a So they are a "friend indeed!". - BUT If your friends only stay by you when you are rich, popular, beautiful, berpengaruh & berpangkat besar, and for whatever reasons it may be, etc etc...then these are  So be sure to know who your true, and real friends are! The world out there is cruel, my dad always reminds me this. So you should be more careful on this, ladies! :)

So in our day to day work, we come across so many persons and all of them are not our "real friends". Each person has an individual character and it is hard to find people who share your thoughts, interests, jokes, etc, so when you find one, please stay true with one another! (same goes to relationship too!)

Many things are needed to make friendship a real one, including trustworthiness, support, honesty, and loyalty, etc. Friendship (and relationship) is supposed to make both people happy, and enjoying their relationship. Good friends know all about one another. A person who is honest and sincere can prove to be a good friend!

I think friendship grows on a mutual trust and help. Friendship demands time and effort. So sometimes you have to step over your pride and put yourself on the place of your friend, and see what she feels even if you think you are correct. But in exchange, a friend can provide a lot of support and comfort in good times and bad.. So if you find someone so dearly, hold on to that person and don't let go! However still, it might occur that at one point of life you are best friends, and then something happened and you can never be friends anymore. Well like I said, things happen, this is how life is..and you need to move on and find another friend and happiness..and remember to guard yourself up next time, so you won't hurt anymore! Your life is blessed, if you have a faithful friend. So be sure to be one first!

Mahatma Gandhi once said that adversity is the crucible test for friendship. You know your real friend, only when he stands by you, in times of adversity. It is said that prosperity makes friends. Adversity tries them. So...are you a real friend to your friend? I hope you are! ^__^

Well I'm glad I found one........for now? heheh. Joking! ;p - Inshaallah, I hope you'll be my best friend until Jannah! Oh, I love you, my friend! And thank you Allah for this wonderful gift! ;)

HURT

Even if someone tries to cause any hurt, stay firm in our belief and remember that no one can cause we any pain if Allah does not desire it for we

Allah said..

“And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but he and if he intends any good for you, there is none who can keep back his favour he brings it to whom he pleases of his servants and he is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
- Qur’an, Surah Yunus; 10:107

:)

Pujuk hati kita dengan al quran insyallah. Inside the quran there is quite a lot of meaningful word. So many lesson we can learn in their..

Oneday I have been hurt by someone .. and I believe and persuade to my self how worst we have been feel remember Allah is fair.. what we have done we get back .. good or bad.. :)

Allah will reveal what we never seen and what was hide..

Behind hurt their is sweetness.. behind sweetness there must be bitter they have been go through before and after sorrow and happiness.....

When...

"And when the ignorant people speak to them with bad words, they reply back with "salamaa" or peaceful words."

Well, negativity lawan negativity takkan jadi positve. Eventually, biar orang buat kita, biar orang kata kita but never do the same sbb it makes us look even more stupid. Biar yang positive itu dari kita no matter how mad you are.

Pilih untuk walk away rather than stay and balas . Allah maha adil maha melihat, jangan risau. Being silent doesn't mean we are wrong. Let people say, Allah sees and knows very well.

And kita, mudah mudahan tak tergolong dalam golongan ignorant people yang tak jaga manner in speech , ignorant people yang bila cakap tak jaga perasaan orang, ignorant people bila cakap sokmo yang buruk buruk.
Nauzubillah.
Forgive and ask forgiveness
Let our word benefits,
Let our existence makes people feel glad.

`A’ishah (ra) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The most hated person with Allah is the most quarrelsome person.” (al-Bukhari)

Moga dijauhkan Allah, kita jadi orang yang suka cari gaduh. May Allah gives us more patience. May Allah guide our heart.

Allahumma ameen.

Ujian Allah Tanda Sayang.

Allah sayangkan kita..

Every time you remember a sin, ask Allah for forgiveness. Perhaps that sin that you have made will become the very reason your heart is polished later on because you are always seeking His Mercy, His Forgiveness, and realizing your weakness in character. Never have despair, but instead, keep turning to The All Forgiving, The Most Merciful, and seek His guidance, for wisdom and hindsight to fill your heart, for permanent change to take place in your soul.

Searchig for a princ? stop it! :')

Nowadays, there is a trend on Facebook/Twitter/blog/tumblr etc where people would talk about marriage..demanding a great, soleh husband/wife to enter the Jannah together and so on...
Looking at a positive side, I cant deny that it is good for us to have a perspective that a relationship between a man and a woman is a thousand way better with marriage -..as all of us  get the fact that marriage has more barakah and is a halal way to express love.
Furthermore, a successful marriage is a door to Jannah. I find that it is beautiful when it is said that if a woman is a mans key to paradise (by helping him to fulfill his deen with her through marriage and being an obedient wife), so, a man is a woman’s door to Jannah. The key that opens the door - a husband and a wife need each other’s help to get there, masya-Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: ”The most perfect believer in faith is the one whose character is finest and who is kindest to his wife.” (Tirmidhi and Nasa’i)
As a Muslim woman, I also want a great man to marry me - the man who lowers his gaze so that I become the only woman he sees, the man who preserved his heart for me, the man whose love will make me stronger - a gift from Allah, insya-Allah. Surely, I want him to encourage me to be closer to Allah in our baitul muslim; baitul dakwah.
But sisters, do you think that a prince of deen will marry you while you just sit in front of your laptop, busy updating your status about marrying a righteous man or sharing almost all of Irma Hasmie’s marriage photos and saying how lucky she is to become a wife of a great man? Will a prince of deen look for you just because of your splendid poem about marriage, your ‘surat-buat-calon-suami’ entries or your ‘menanti-bakal-imamku-dunia-akhirat’ status? No.
And why do you focus on finding a righteous man  only?  Stop it. Don’t let your imagination ruin yourself. There are many doors of Jannah so there are many ways to enter them. Dont just focus on one way (marriage). Be a righteous person first, prepare yourself. Devote yourself to Allah and when you stop searching for a prince and make Allah the King of your heart, He will help you to complete your fairy tale.
“I tell the boys and girls... Allah has already written the name of your spouses for you. What you need to work on is your relationship with Allah. He will send him/her to you when you’re ready. It is only a matter of time.” - Sheikh Mamdouh
friends.. dont worry if you haven’t found your life partner. Be a righteous woman not just because you want to marry a righteous man. Marry a righteous man not just because you want him to go with you to Jannah. You can attain Jannah with or without marriage. Now is the time for you be the one that can lead yourself there.
Take Maryam RA as an example. She never did get married but was still a righteous woman in the eye of Allah SWT. He says:
And (the example of) Mary, the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her chastity, so we blew into (her garment) through Our Angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was the devoutly obedient.”
(Surah at-Tahrim, verse 12)
Pray and make du’a for the best, not just for life in dunya but also for hereafter. Ask Allah to forgive our sins, our parents’ sins, our family’s, teachers’ and friends’. Don’t forget to make du’a for our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Burma after every prayer.
And ask Allah to help ourselves to be among the righteous men.

Insyallah.

pleasant of Allah

Whatever you do, it is to please Allah swt and bring you closer to Him.. and marriage is one of the vehicles for this. True love as Allah swt intends for it to be will bring you closer to Allah swt, not farther away from Him.
..and he created from among you, spouses. so you may dwell in tranquility together”

so back to the track.. what should i do is work and and do it more properly.. may be its late but doesnt mean i cant do any effort rite??

Allah swt look into the effort, not the result. If u did not struggle,.. did not do ur best, and last minute, who should be blamed? Do u even have the right to complaint? No! Because its ur fault, from the very beginning. So start work out so the outcome, will be outstanding.

ok k tidak ada alasan terlambat kalau mls usaha .. tuu je lah :) gud luck all

Vitamin Q? :)

I just wanna share this, a beautiful yet very beneficial post that i've read from a wonderful site :) very inspiring!
so, i highlighted here and there to make it clear and much more easier to understand~

Back then, I never really understood when people say “make the Quran your best friend.” To me, it is just a book. In a language I unfortunately do not understand. And growing up, there were so many taboos (pantang-larang) associated with this one book.

“Ablution is compulsory! (Wajib berwudhu!). Wear your praying garments!  (Pakai telekung!). Read only on your praying mat! (Mengaji atas tikar sejadah!). Put it on the top most cupboard! (Letak atas almari paling tinggi!). Do not be in contact with it when you are on vacation!” And I am not talking about the literal vacation.

Thus I wondered, how on earth is one supposed to be in this “madly-in-love” relationship if one is only allowed to see it five times a day, in a position one might not be comfortable with (Duduk bersila masa mengaji!) and one cannot be in contact with it when one is on vacation. Do you know that one is in her worst murderous mood when she is on vacation? Again, I am not talking about the literal vacation.

So yes, I never really understood when some people say “make the Quran your best friend.”
My curiosity towards the concept of turning your Quran into something more than just a holy book began when one of my favourite authors wrote “All the verses in the Quran are like personal love letters from God to us.”  This single statement struck a chord inside me. All this while I thought the sole purpose of completing the recitation of the Quran (mengkhatamkan Quran) was so that we could have a khatm Quran ceremony.  It was just one of life’s goals to achieve. “You have to finish reading your Quran before you turn 12!”. And once the ceremony is over, so is our connection with the Quran.

We missed out on the chance to bond with our Quran. We missed out on the opportunity to make the Quran as our best friend, the one that will help us get through our trials in life, through sadness and downfalls. The one that will remind us not to forget to thank Allah when something good comes our way or to remind us that we have a purpose in this life, that we were not born or placed on this earth to grow, eat, sleep, work, get married, produce offspring and die peacefully.

A couple of years ago I met two women who changed my entire view on this matter. These two inspiring women taught me and guided me on how to commit myself to a relationship like no other. That it is not too late for me to chase after the Quran and make it my best friend. Just like how you have to know someone to be in love with someone, the same concept is applied in wanting to be in a relationship with your Quran.

10 Easy Steps To Kick-start Your Relationship!

1. The first step is to go out there and get a decent copy of the translation of the Quran in a language you are most comfortable with: Malay, Indonesian, or even English.  Let’s face it, Arabic is not our mother tongue (in Malaysia it is not). If you want to make this relationship work, you have to start with the basic. This can only be done with a copy of a Quran’s translation.

2.  Step 2 is optional but probably one that you are going to love. Get yourself a handbag that will fit your Quran translation. I remembered going to a program in Masjid Al-Mukhlisin, Cheras, where the speaker told us that when women are choosing a bag to buy, they never considered the “Will this bag fit my Quran?”requirement. We usually think and consider whether the bag will fit our purse, our keys, our praying garments, our makeup bag but never the Quran. This being said, it does not mean you now have to chuck away all those bags you currently have and get new ones just because those bags could not fit your Quran. What I am trying to emphasize is not to forget the requirement mentioned above the next time you are out on a quest for a new bag.

3. Step 3 is a continuation from step 2. Guys reading this are probably thinking, “What does buying a bag has anything to do with reading the Quran? That is typical of a girl to use any kind of excuse to justify herself into buying a handbag.” Well, hold your horses guys. The only reason I mentioned step 2 is because in step 3, you are required to bring your Quran with you wherever you go. EVERYWHERE you go, always have your Quran with you. When you go to school, when you go to work, when you are out for leisure purposes, never leave the house without your Quran.  Why? Because at any chance you could possibly get, read the Quran. You are waiting for your bus? Read the Quran to kill time. Waiting for your friends at that cafe you love to hang out together? Read the Quran over your favourite cup of mocha. Stuck in a traffic jam on your way to work? Read the Quran. Change the “you-can-only-read-your-Quran-privately-in-your-home” culture.

4. Go crazy and wild with your Quran. I am talking about sticky notes, highlighters, scribbling on the pages of your Quran with new things you have learned about. There are words of wisdom, motivational quotes so profound it will put that “bowl of soup for the soul” book series to shame. There are Quranic verses that tell you about the rewards of Jannah and the wraths of Jahannam. There are stories for you to take lessons from (the story of Ashab e Kahf from Surah Al-Kahf, chapter 18 and the story of Prophet Yusuf from Surah Yusuf, chapter 12.) There are verses so beautifully composed and rhymed as though it is a poetry written especially by Allah for you that your heart breaks softly when you read it (Surah Ar-Rahman, chapter 55). The list of exciting things you will encounter with the Quran goes on and on. Trust me, it will be one exploration that you will have the most fun with.  Go crazy with your Quran. Go wild in exploring your Quran.
For me, my most favourite part of getting to know the Quran is when I stumble upon supplications of the prophet and the believers. Mark them. Try to memorize them. Do not let your Quran be that book kept prim and proper on your bookshelf, the pages pristine white because you fear of writing anything on it.

6. Highlight frequently read phrases to familiarize yourself with the beautiful sayings of the Quran. La tahzan (Don’t be sad = لا تحزنا) or Afala Ta’qilun (Do you not think? =  افلا تعقلون) are some of the example of phrases mentioned numerous times in the Quran that you cannot help but notice it. Take note of it so that the next time you see it, you would be able to recognize it and you would get that sense of familiarity and feel as if you are personally connecting with the Quran.

7. Know the benefits of reading the Quran. The more you know about the benefits that you will reap, the more you want to spend time with it. The rewards of reading and reciting the Quran are many. An authentic hadith in At-Tirmidhi states:
Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.
In another hadith, ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, relates that the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said:
Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Apart from that, another advantage of being best buddies with your Quran is that it will become your saviour on the day of judgement. In a hadith narrated by Abu Umamah, he said that he heard Allah’s Messenger S.A.W say:
Recite the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite it. [Sahih Muslim Hadith 1757]

8. Personalize your Quran. Qurans nowadays are printed and published in so many different designs and colours. Get one that matches your personality. Pink, red, green, leather bound, hard cover bound. Make some fancy cover for your Quran. I know some will argue by saying it is the act of reading and reciting the Quran that matters, not whether the cover matches your bag or the colour of your hijab. But if these things help motivate you, help get you excited about opening your Quran and reading it, I say “Why not!”. If one could constantly upgrade the accessories of one’s smartphone, what is wrong with doing the same with one’s Quran?

9. Take it a step further. If is not merely enough that you upgrade the “external” aspect of your Quran. Enrol yourself in a tafseer class. Learn with teachers and scholars that can deepen your knowledge and understanding about the verses of the Quran. Then take it another step further: Enrol yourself in an Arabic class. It will do you wonders. Often times I get really envious of a person whom upon reading a verse of the Quran, burst into tears because he or she actually understands what was being read. He or she knows how terrifying Jahannam is and how beautiful Jannah is described. Unfortunately, the rest of us do not have the same effect and we could only blame it on our lack of proficiency in Arabic.

10. The final tip: Istiqamah. To be steadfast. Strive to always be in the company of the Quran. Strive to read the Quran every single day. Treat the habit as though it is a supplement, a vitamin to nourish your soul (a sister I know calls it her Vitamin Q). Start small. For the beginners, start by reading a page each day and keep adding as you feel you are spiritually progressing. It is not about finishing the race (to complete the reading of the Quran). It is about enjoying the journey at your own pace. To feel how the verses of the Quran will change you.

So there you go. I really hope you benefit from these ten tips as much as I have. Also a point to always remember is to never stop making du’a to Allah to help ease your journey with the Quran. I ask Allah to enter the Quran into our hearts and to let us turn to the Quran before anything else. I also ask Allah to make you and I amongst those who “speak” the Quran. I am reminded of what Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan once said in his lecture, “Before you want Quran to be your companion on Judgement Day, you have to first be its companion here in this life.”
So my question to you now is: Are you ready to be in this special relationship?

So, don't forget to take our vitamin Q everyday!
